Spending a summer evening at an Erykah Badu concert in the middle of the Taste of Chicago, surrounded by delicious food and all of the coolest people, sounds like a dream right?
The Illinois Lottery invited me out of the Suburbs for the 2nd year in a row to enjoy a concert in their VIP tent, this time for one of my all-time favorite artists Erykah Badu. I couldn’t resist considering all of the fun I had last year at the Anything’s Possible® series that they hosted with Janelle Monae.
This years #MyWinningStory® music series opened with another favorite of mine Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, New Orleans finest band, I felt like I was walking around the French Quarter listening to them, just amazing. That reminds me I need to schedule another trip with my husband to New Orleans pronto!
Erykah was phenomenal as always, such an artist, she did a few of my favorites like Tyrone, Mama’s Gun, and Didn’t Cha Know…I’m grooving to her Baduizm album as I type this, glass of wine nearby. I had so much freaking fun Thursday night. Seriously it was unreal, and worth the looooooooooong Metra ride back home after the concert.
As always the Lottery team treated me so well and I can’t wait until next years concert!
