Hamilton Beach Wave-Action Blender Review + Giveaway (Closed)

It’s summertime and that means cool, refreshing drinks. Usually a smoothie fan, sometimes I want something crispy and light, enter agua fresca!!

Hamilton Beach reached out to us recently and asked us to try out their Wave-Action (wanded) Blender. According to the box it’s perfect for smoothies, icy drinks and milk shakes. No better time than the present to try it out!

Whenever I have fruit with really high water content like watermelon or grapes, I like to make agua frescas, a drink popular in Mexico and the Caribbean. It’s usually made with some blend of fruit or flowers with water and sugar.

In our fridge today there were organic grapes, blueberries and organic lime juice, seemed like a perfect mix.

Eat The Burbs Giveaway

The recipe for this is simple.

  • 1 Cup Whole Grapes
  • 1/8 Cup Lime Juice
  • 2 Tbsp Organic Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Water
  • 1/2 Cup Blueberries (Optional)

Give a few pulses in your blender to breakdown the grapes. On the wave action I used the grind/chop ice pulse setting and pulsed about 8 times to get the desired consistency of this drink. Please note that most people will pourEat The Burbs Giveaway the mixture into a strainer and remove the grape skins, but I do not. I like the texture of them.

As for how the Hamilton Beach Wave-Action blender performed, it definitely handled this job well. The 700 Watt Peak power should be able to handle most drinks, smoothies and sauces pretty easily. The pitcher can hold 48oz. so it’s a good size for 4-6 drinks at a time. This is definitely the blender to use for small batch drinks, dips, and salsas.

My favorite smoothies are made with avocado, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, a little bit of organic yogurt, a bit of ground flax, and some honey. I even put in a spoonful of peanut butter sometimes!
