It’s Spring Break in the Chicago suburbs and the kids are ready for some excitement, iFLY to the rescue. It’s rare that I can find an activity that both of my kids will enjoy, considering their age difference, one teen and one pre-schooler. It’s a good thing that they invite adventurers ages 3 to 103 to visit and experience the thrill of sky-diving.

Not much of an adrenaline junkie myself, I asked my younger brother to join the kids in flight. I had my role, pictures, video, and showering them with thumbs up while they were in the tunnel. All roles assigned, we arrived at iFLY at 11am for their 12pm flight. Luckily there is parking in the rear because it was raining on the day that we went.

When you arrive your first stop is the kiosks to check in, then over to the staff to pick your package, get instructions and to make payment. My kiddos were signed up for the double flight, each of them got 2 flights with an instructor in addition to their training flight. We also opted to upgrade to the high flight for my teen, where the instructor took him for a flight all the way up to the top of the tunnel. Let me just say this, get this upgrade!! My teen raved about the high flight for days and any of you that are parents of teens know that it is tough to get a teen to ‘rave’ about anything, they are usually ‘too cool’ for everything [icon size=”extra-small” image=”fa fa-meh-o” url=”” ]

You’ll need to be fitted for a flight suit, a helmet, and safety goggles after attending a brief video training session, then it’s time to line up for flight. On the inside of the flight tunnel there are benches for those that are ready to take flight to sit and wait their turn. Talk about anticipation. I think I may have been even more excited than they were, I was grinning ear to ear with camera in hand. The instructional flights began and my family was excited. There were about 10 people scheduled during our time-frame and each of them took an instructional flight, followed by the 2 flights included in their package.

My family had so much fun at iFLY. I’d definitely recommend you visit, both adults and children will love this experience. The Lincoln Park location is gorgeous and located within a short drive of some great restaurants.

For more information about the experience and their package prices check out the iFLY website!

In addition to Lincoln Park iFLY Chicago also has locations in Naperville and Rosemont.
