Celebrating 2 Years in Naperville – Kick’s Chicken Cafe’ (2015)

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the anniversary celebration for Kick’s Chicken Cafe’ in Naperville. Kick’s opened quietly two years ago along 75th street and quickly became a favorite with locals, partly due to their delicious fried chicken, tasty side dishes and exceptional service. I can recall my first visit to Kick’s, I didn’t really know what to expect, wasn’t sure what the concept was, was it takeout, dine in, sandwiches? I had no idea.

After visiting and trying the crunchy fried chicken and a side salad, I was a fan. My family and I have since visited several times over the two years that they’ve been open. The food is good. The bone in chicken is prepared using a 61 year old Broaster® recipe created by the Wisconsin based manufacturer of Broaster® Pressure Fryers.

During the anniversary celebration Kick’s unveiled their new menu features and menu boards. I couldn’t resist trying the ‘create your own’ chicken sandwiches, I had a tough time narrowing down the toppings that I wanted on my chicken sandwich.

Seriously I wanted every kind of cheese.

The Create Your Own goes like this:

  • Choose your Bread
  • Choose your Chicken
  • Choose your Cheese(s)
  • Choose your Sauce
  • Choose your Veggies
  • Extras like Bacon or a Fried Egg (Ha, how about both?)

Needless to say I tried to get as much on my sandwich as I could while still trying to make sure the flavors went together. I ended up getting the breaded chicken on French bread…holy carbs!!! Topped with Provolone and Cheddar, plus Mayo, BBQ sauce, Avocado, Bacon, Fried Egg, and a Tomato…lol yeah, I couldn’t finish, well not in public anyway. 🙂

If you haven’t visited Kick’s Chicken Cafe’ before or if you haven’t been in a while, give them a visit and let’em know Eat The Burbs sent you. 🙂
