Exceptional Taste and Quality Ingredients

Let’s talk about gluten free pizza crust, the sometimes chewy, sometimes chalky, never seems to be quite right pizza crust that some have come to expect when they eat gluten free pizza. Well recently I was sent some gluten free Sonoma Flatbreads by Donatos Pizza to taste test and let me tell you the crust was delicious and crispy!

The thin crust was perfection!

My oldest kid and I tried 4 varieties of the Sonoma Flatbreads.

  • Fire Roasted Vegetable
  • Four Cheese (My kiddos Fave)
  • Uncured Pepperoni (My Fave)
  • Chicken & Fire Roasted Peppers

Each of the flatbreads, which I’ll call pizzas for the remainder of this review were pretty good. The crust was exceptional, doughy but thin, it held up the toppings very well. I was also impressed with the lack of oiliness, even on the pepperoni pizza…no grease dripping everywhere. I loved that! I also really appreciate Donato’s using uncured pepperoni, void of the usual nitrites and nitrates associated with pepperoni pizza.

In fact, according to the Sonoma Flatbreads website each of the pizzas were made with ingredients that are free of artificial colors, flavors or preservatives including antibiotic-free chicken.

The pizza’s come in three sizes, the 6.5 inch personal, a 10 inch meant for two, and the family sized 12″.  I’ll definitely be buying some Sonoma Flatbreads for our freezer, especially for the summer time. It’s the perfect, ‘I don’t really feel like cooking but I want something delicious that I don’t have to leave the house for treat.’

The pizzas are produced right here in the Midwest (Columbus, OH) and are certified Gluten Free.

Find out where they are sold via their website.

Donato’s is a family owned and operated company that has been impressively expanding since 1963.
