Recently I had a chat with Chef and TV Host Catherine De Orio about the #GreatAmericanCookIn challenge that she is championing in partnership with ConAgra Foods. Catherine has been all over TV and social media encouraging Millennials to Eat In for one week during the month of May.
Most Chicagoans know Catherine as the host of popular show Check Please on WTTW where she facilitates conversations among local food lovers who review their favorite restaurants. As you can imagine, Catherine dines out a lot! So why would she be interested in leading the charge to encourage people to cook at home for one week?
My passion for cooking began at a young age and I’m thrilled for this opportunity to partner with ConAgra and to help others learn to love cooking in as much as I do,” says De Orio. “I hope many will take part in the #GreatAmericanCookIn Challenge, using these everyday recipe ingredients to create simple and tasty meals in their own kitchen – for one full week.
Catherine is passionate about food and celebrating life. She and I hopped on the phone to have a quick chat about this challenge and why it’s important. Check it out:
